چکیده
Background: Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors (MPNSTs) are defined as malignant tumors arising from a peripheral nerve or displaying sheath differentiation. We report the first Korean case of MPNST ileum. Case Presentation: A 33-year-old female without family history neurofibromatosis type I complained lower abdominal pain. An abdomen computed tomography and enhanced magnetic resonance imaging pelvis confirmed 5.6 cm heterogenous lobulated lesion in Laparoscopic exploration revealed severe adhesion main ileal mass to sigmoid colon. adhesiolysis segmental resection with anastomosis ileum was performed. On gross examination, resected specimen 6.5 tumor located 10 proximal 15 distal margins. In microscopic nucleus cells oval elongated shape, showing moderate pleomorphism. Immunohistochemical staining showed that were positive for S100 about 10% Ki-67. During 12-month follow-up period, she presented no symptoms CT scans evidence distant metastasis thorax recurrence. Conclusion: rare young jejunum, suspected having GIST before surgery an extensive review literature intestinal tract.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is a rare malignant tumor that develops either from a preexisting neurofibroma or de novo. The cell of origin is believed to be the Schwann cell and possibly other nerve sheath cells. In this report, we describe a rare case of MPNST that arise from the socket of second left maxillary molar that has been already extracted in a young man. He was ref...

متن کاملIntrathoracic Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor: Histopathological and Immunohistochemical Features
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is a rare nerve sheath tumor derived from Schwann cells or pleuripotent cells of neural crest. Neurogenic tumors make about 10-20% of all mediastinal tumors. Incidence of MPNST is 0.001% in general population and 0.16% in patients with neurofibromatosis I (NF I). We report a case of 60 year female presenting with progressive cough and breathlessne...

A mid-aged male presented with progressive lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) for years. Huge prostate with low serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level was detected. The specimen from transurethral resection revealed surprising pathology finding as malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST). Considering its huge size (more than 300 gm) and location, we prescribed neoadjuvant chemother...

Spinal intradural primary malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) are rare in patients without neurofibromatosis. Here we represent a 3-year-old girl of primary intradural spinal malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. The tumor was removed partially and MPNST was diagnosed in the histopathological examination. Her condition deteriorated due to acute hydrocephalus in the following day...
